More Postcards

Even though my iBook is already out, I continue to draw postcards for people. Here are a couple of recent ones...

This is for a friend of mine who plays an upright bass.

This guy was an answer to a challenge from the editor of Doodlers Anonymous. He asked for doddles done in 5 minutes. I drew this in 4 1/2. (Of course I spent about 15 minutes deciding what to draw.) When I was done, I mailed it to one of my nephews.

"Postcards & Doodles" is now available!

My new iBook is now available on iTunes! (Here is the link)You can download this 83 page collection of drawings, paintings and sketches onto your iPad, for only $3.99! ($4.99 in Canada, £2.99 in the UK, and $3.99 in Australia). Oh, and the foreword was written by Tom Bancroft!

(Since it is so illustration heavy, it is not viewable on your iPhone).

I hope you enjoy all the cards and envelopes I have doodled on. It's like a sketchbook that I mailed out one page at a time.

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright...

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare sieze the fire?

And what shoulder, & what art.
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? & what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And watered heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

Working on a Book

Hi All.

I am excited to announce that I will soon be releasing an iBook through iTunes. It's an illustrated volume of many of my hand painted postcards and decorated envelopes. Some of the entries you've seen here, but I've made sure to have plenty of new art as well. Stay tuned. When I have a release date, I will let you know.
Coming Soon!!

Ukulele Sketches

Yesterday morning, I was up early and the house was quiet, so I took some time to paint. I did this little sketch on a piece of illustration board that I had cut off from something else and had used as a scrap to test colors ons. But once I was done, I sorta liked it.
I posted it on Facebook, and it got a lot of likes.

Today, I decided to work on another version of the same idea. There are many things I like better about the new one, but there's still a freshness to the original I didn't quite capture.
