Just a little sketch I did a few days ago.
I've been painting some dogs on the walls of a local animal shelter recently (it's a non-profit, so this is all pro bono). This fellow was just for me. Maybe soon, I will take some photos of the shelter walls and post them, too.

yeah, now go bring yourself home a doggie, or a kitten. yes yes, you look like the kind of person who needs a pet...ooor more pets. =)

That's a great drawing! Do you do monkeys by any chance?

Got Uke?

Yes, Lydia, all three of our pets are from the shelter.
And Mr. Hobbit... Oh, yes! I love dem monkeys! I'll doodle one up and post it soon. Love your sight, by the way. I'm looking for the chords to "Ama'ama" by Sam Alama. Got any leads? I'm comin' up dry.
Awesome drawing, Tim! For some reason, it makes me think of "Lady and the Tramp." Have no idea why...
So is the dog playing a guitar, or a ukulele? My bet's on the uke.

Yup, it's a Uke.
Kind of a visual pun: To tune a ukulele, you sing "my dog has fleas". to the notes G,C,E & A (the G being higher than the C - it's weird, I know. Trust me.)

Seems like te hound dog is howling, as he plugs into the setting . . . pickn' and a grin' his old uke.
Actually, I already knew about the notes on a ukulele. I had three friends in high school that played ukuleles. They called themselves the "Puky Ukes" but they were really quite talented.
The thing I didn't know was that you sang "my dog has fleas" while you tuned a ukulele. Now that's interesting!

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner (I never subscribe to comment RSS's so I just sorta have to remember to check).
I've never heard of the song you mention. My suggestion would be to ask around in the ukulele forums. I'd try the
>Flea Market Music one and the
>Ukulele Cosmos one. Both require registration but both are great resources (though I tend to "hang out" more at the Cosmos).
HH
Hey there Hobbit. The song is on Iz's Facing Future album (Track 2). It's a song about all the ways to eat fish.
I'll check Ukulele Cosmos. Already checked Flea Market. Nothing there.
Thanx for the tip!
