Soon.
Okay, here's the longer answer: First of all, I might not be posting any updates to my illustrated dream any time soon. After the bomb squad showed up, it got pretty boring. Frustrating, but boring. Then I woke up without ever finding out what happened to the gorilla. Sorry to leave you hanging.
I have written another post, but I haven't had time to finish the illustrations. A picture is worth 1,000 words, but drawing is sometimes slower, eh? The reason for that is I am spending a lots of overtime at my day job. And when I get home, my time gets put to better use with family.
I am also embarking on a new career in my off hours. See, when I finish up my duties on my current shows, I will be leaving Big Idea to spread my wings and see if I can get some personal stuff to fly. It's pretty tough trying to work overtime at one job while trying to get another one off the ground in the evenings, y'know? But I've had some exciting developments in the last couple of weeks. Once it's more for certain, I'll let folks in on it.
This is just a pre-announcement. Stay tuned for more details and a link to a new website. Meanwhile, I will get some new stuff up here pretty soon.
Oh, and here's some pictures just to keep any body happy who really misses that sort of thing. The first is some tigers I painted (in acrylic) for a friend's nursery. The other is a pencil & watercolor version of Tinkerbell I did for Drawergeeks.com:

Thanx for your patience.

aaaw, the tiger one is really cute. if my room walls weren't covered from ceiling to toe in my drawings, and naruto/anime wall scrolls i'd want them painted on my wall as well.
Well, well! Glad to see you're still among the living! Had us worried there for a while.
You're leaving Big Idea? You will be missed I'm sure. Hope all goes well with your new ventures.
The dream may be boring to you, but it wouldn't be to us. Just whenever you have the time, clue us in, ok?
Why wouldn't people miss your drawings? They are awesome stuff, dude!

You are too kind.
More drawings and more words are on the way.

Tim, these are great. The tigers are super cute. Here's wishing you great success as you branch out onto your own. As a freelancer I've worked for myself for ten years now. It's stressful at times but also very fulfilling. I don't think I'd be happier doing it any other way.
Hey, Tim, great stuff.
I guess this means you'll finally have a chance at drawing characters with limbs again, eh? ;)
Heck, the Tinkerbell shows you're by no means out of practice! Good luck with the new stuff! Can't wait!

I have enjoyed all your art instruction on this blog. I am also a big fan of VeggieTales. God bless you on whatever your new adventure is. Keep your focus on HIM and all things will fall into place.
That's the idea, Lisa. That's the idea.
Question: Is the tiger playing a ukulele? And is he left-handed? Never seen a left-handed tiger before. (Should I say "left-pawed"?)
Lisa's correct. The Bible says that man plans his way, but the Lord guides his steps. May the Lord guide all your steps, and make your path sure.

Answer: Yes, the tiger is playing a ukulele.... and not very well, I might add. If you reverse the strings for playing left-handed, it's close to an F minor, but you don't need to use your thumb as a cheat for so easy a fingering. Perhaps he's lazy.
And actually, the reason I made him a south-paw is for pure story composition. I wanted the cause and effect to read left to right, so I needed the serenador (is that even a word?) to be on the left and the reaction on the right so you would more than likely read it that way. If he were right handed, the head and neck of the ukulele would have blocked the girl tiger. Or at least would have made the composition more difficult to create.
The theme of the nursery was Noah's Ark. My friend wanted a bunch of animals floating around the room. So she asked several artist friends to paint a couple each. I also painted some armadillos floating in inner tubes with a cooler. My friend is from Texas (where I also spent many years) so she was quite accustomed to 'dillos and float trips down the Guadelupe river.
Thank you for your encouragement and prayers. Grace and peace to you all as well.

Nah, Tim, he's not lazy; he's just enjoying the moment.
You're right, it reads very well left to right, from his playing to her reaction, and if the ukulele had been the other way it would have messed everything up. That's the neat thing about your blog: it's great advice for fledgling artists such as myself.
The word is "serenader," even in Spanish I think.
Armadillos in inner tubes, eh? With a cooler no less? Your imagination obviously knows no bounds!
